The Legacy Expo Weekend
While the actual Legacy Expo might be a one day event, the weekend as a whole offers three different events, all designed to help people talk about death, build connections, and learn more about what their community has to offer. Each event offers something unique and they are all open to the public.
Event Highlights
Friday May 1st

Death Over Drafts at a local brewery. This is a casual, community-driven event with origins in Los Angeles, California, that brings people together over their beverage of choice, to have open, meaningful conversations about death, dying, and end-of-life planning.

Saturday May 2nd
A film screening of the second film in the When You Die Trilogy: Saying Goodbye: Preparing for Death followed by a discussion. These screenings offer thought-provoking explorations of death and the dying process, featuring perspectives from experts, caregivers, and those with lived experiences.
Discover the services you may not know exist in Ottawa to help you navigate all things death and dying. With 25+ Vendors and four different presentations throughout the day, there's something for everyone. The Expo is all about learning about local services and building community.
